Our partners in Cambodia

Our highly qualified partner workshops in Cambodia employ around 600 people, many of whom have physical disabilities. We are proud that one of our partners was recognized by UNESCO in 2004 for their outstanding artisanal quality.
One of our workshops was founded in 2002 by two exiled Cambodians who had fled to New Zealand during the terror regime of the Khmer Rouge. There, they studied subjects including textile design and later taught at universities in New Zealand and Australia. Yet, the sole thought of helping their country and creating employment opportunities for landmine victims prompted them to return to Cambodia and build the workshop.
Our second production facility developed out of a Christian NGO and employs a significant number of people with physical disabilities. As a proud member of the World Fair Trade Organisation, this partner company manufactures our upcycled bags and backpacks primarily in Phnom Penh, but also in the provinces of Cambodia.
